The Valletta Grand Prix 2011 Event is ON and is happening on 20/21/22 May.
The organisers of the VGPF have recently announced the dates of the 2011 Event. Unlike last year the organiser's have chosen to keep away from other important dates and major events such as Mille Migla, Barcelona GP and Mother's Day.
Held in Valletta's Grand Harbour, the Malta Fireworks Festival features spectacular pyrotechnic displays from competing national and international fireworks manufacturers. A "History of Malta" laser show portrays the country's history with fireworks and music.
The best viewpoint to enjoy the fireworks displays is the Barriera Wharf on the Valletta sea front. Alternatively, head to the top of the bastions of the Grand Harbour.
The Malta Marathon is the biggest athletic event on the island. The inaugural event was held in 1986, and 2011 will see the 26th edition of the Malta Marathon. Such has been the impact of this race that today it has become one of the highlights of the winter calendar of events in Malta - almost as traditional as the Maltese village festivals held in summer.
