The Maltese Islands have a history boasting around 7000 years back. Placed centrally in the Mediterranean they've been visited, occupied and colored by a long row of different cultures and nations. It has an incredible amount of historical landmarks, which cover for just about any occasion or previous event.

In Valletta we find the Malta Experience, where you can see the full history in a visual presentation. For those more interested in going on adventure, there's a lot to see and hopefully enough time to do it.
Although for the historical interested, war has always been a preference, so whilst visiting Valletta make sure to experience the Malta Wartime Experience as well, and get the insights of Malta's contribution to World War II

Also worth a visit is the open air markets in Marsaxlokk. In the second largest harbor in Malta there's a market every day, with Sunday being the best day to visit. Here you'll find a classic old fashioned market place with a buzzing atmosphere.

Furthermore there's a lot of historical buildings scattered around the Island. The Malta sightseeing busses goes by most of them. So don't miss out on the different churches, towers and the medieval village of Mdina that Malta has to offer.

Fashionable Sliema

North of Valetta is the city of Sliema, which has gone from being a quiet fishing village and turned turned into a fancy and fashionable city with all that entails, such as stores, restaurants and cafés. Walk down Tower Road and visit St. Julian’s Tower; one of the many watchtowers built by the knights to keep an eye out for enemy attacks. From Sliema you actually get a great view of Valletta as it is situated just across Marsamxett harbor.

The famous blue cave
Imagine a cave where the sun and the corals create a beautiful and fascinating play of colors, that’s pretty much what the famous blue cave of Malta looks like. The cave is one of many but absolutely the most beautiful and the most visited. It is close to Wied iz-Zurrieq, and you’re going to need a boat to see it, but it is definitely worth a visit.

The Medieval town of Mdina
