Despite Malta being a predominantly Catholic country, there's always something happening when the light go out and the darkness of night surrounds you. When all other places close down, some might still feel wide awake. This is your forbidden pleasures of Malta!
Welcome High Rollers!
Being one the European countries that hosts a large number of iGaming companies, some jokingly refer to it as the European mini Las Vegas.
In fact Malta only holds 4 casinos in total, where the 2 most commonly known and frequented are Casino Dragonara & the casino at Portomaso. Both being situated in St. Julians.
The other 2 casinos are both a bit away in each direction. The Oracle casino in Buggiba/Qawra is a bit more north in between St. Julians and Mellieha. This is run by the same people as the Portomaso, though more focused on casino games.
All the casinos in Malta offer the standard casino games as roulette, blackjack, casino poker & slots. For the poker enthusiasts, Dragonara & Portomaso have daily tournaments with low buy-ins, also including €1-2 NL cash games. Recently the Casino di Venezia in the Three Cities has become more visible. Hosting medium large tournaments and also cash games.
For horse racing, betting and lotto there are numerous small kiosks around the Island.
Also Bingo available opposite the entrance to Vivaldi Hotel in Paceville.
Good to know:

Night Clubs
Mostly centered around the infamous Paceville, you can basiclly find a place to party every day of the week. Especially during the summer season the small bar street explodes in people. Normally this area is frequented by youths from age 17, which is the legal drinking age in Malta. The places attended mostly by locals are Havanna and Clique. Nordic Bar and Natives will often have a larger number of Scandinavians visiting.
For the more mature audience places like Hugo's, Bar Celona and Level22 in the Portomaso Complex are often the spots to visit.
Good to Know:
By law most places must close down by 4 am as the latest, but for most people wanting to continue throughout the early mornings the different gentleman's clubs have longer opening hours.
